Work experience

Software Architect

• RushmoreDrive.com C#.Net, Lucene.net, SQL Server T-SQL, Ext.js. RushmoreDrive.com was a search engine for the black community. Responsibilities included Database development for content management. Application development in support of News, Detour Our News and Views, Daily Drive (blogs) and various back end applications.
• RushmoreDr.com Partner based site-search, using Lucene.net and C#. Leveraged open source items where this would enhance and enable speed to market and customer experience. The search engine itself was based on the idea that website owners should have more control over the display and ranking of pages on their site than they would receive using any of the standard custom searches available from the major search engines. This product was gaining hold quickly with major clients and was due for a second release to leverage Regular Expression against content for caching and boosting ranking of pages or directories.

Developer

• MLS Universal Parser C#.Net, SQL Server T-SQL. Metadata driven data parser to import Real Estate information from outside sources. My involvement in this project included Data Acquisition, Decryption, and Extracting files from nested compressed files. I was also involved in planning and design of various other aspects of the project.

Application Developer

• IRW Flexible Framework Actuate eServices, Oracle, VBA. This enterprise reporting solution uses metadata defined data sources where users can create and schedule their own reports. It allows dynamic grouping, sorting, aggregates and column selections. My involvement on the project primarily consisted of developing and populating the metadata database.

Lead Software Engineer

• Fund Accounting Data Warehouse: SQL Server. This data warehouse accepts multiple updates from text files in 15-minute increments, and runs extremely fast. The loading procedures have been written to look at meta data defining dependencies so that if a job step failed, all the data that did not depend on the failed step could still be loaded. This allows us to greatly reduce recovery time if problems arise.
• Revenue and Expense: Fee Tracking Application using VB, SQL Server and Actuate
• Quality Audit: tracking and transaction sampler. Visual Basic, SQL Server stored procedures and database design, reports using Actuate.
• Quality Control: Tracking report for new accounts. SQL Server stored procedures and database design

• Wrote Visual Basic / RPG Components as a Programmer for Y2K System Replacement Project. VB Front-end with RPG, AS/400 DB2 back end.

Application Developer

Outbound Area Supervisor

• In charge of between 10 and 30 employees at a given time.

• Stationed In Ft Bragg North Carolina 82’nd Airborne Division after earning my parachutist badge, and also where I earned my first Army Achievement Medal. Attended “Recon School” and “Survival Training”,
• 3rd Infantry Division (Mechanized) Aschaffenburg Germany.  Earned a second Army Achievement Medal while supporting international “Joint Readiness Training” and my Overseas Service Pin.
• 25th Light Infantry Division, Schoffield Barracks, Hawaii. While stationed in Hawaii I earned my third Army Achievement Medal, my Air Assault (Helicopter Rappel) Badge.
